Job Description
- This position works closely with our doctor to assist patients in ordering contacts, frame selection, and lens options. Our opticians also adjust and/or repair frames as needed, along with other daily tasks. We will train in-house, but prior experience is a plus.
Job Responsibilities
- Determine benefit eligibility and bill for glasses
- Maximize sales offerings and educate clients on frame and lens options
- Assists patients with frame and lens selections, coating options, repairs, and adjustments by using extensive knowledge of product lines and options
- Accurately process client transactions and payments
- Trains patients on eyewear care
- Help maintain the attractive appearance of the office; dust, clean frames, clean and stock bathroom as needed
- Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned
Additional Skills
- Must have computer skills and the ability to navigate the electronic health records system
- Strong ability to multi-task with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Experience answering patient questions with confidence and knowledge
- Experience as a dispensing optician, frame stylist, or lab work is preferred; however, a sales background and positive disposition with a willingness to train and learn will also be considered
Physical Requirements
- Constant standing and walking
- Frequent keyboard use for data entry
- Occasional lifting or moving of patients
